Hovanes Manucharyan, Founder and President (LinkedIn)

Mr. Manucharyan founded LinkGard Systems, an IT outsourcing company based in Armenia, in early 2004. He brings more than a decade of experience in network security design, system administration, and network vulnerability assessment. To address the unique challenges of the region, he relies on a team of local as well as US security experts.

Before starting LinkGard Systems, Mr. Manucharyan was a consultant at CreationPoint Systems, a US-based software development firm and software consulting company specializing in automatic network monitoring & recovery systems, certified security expertise, content management systems, and work flow systems.

Prior to CreationPoint, Mr. Manucharyan was a member of the Cyber Attack Tiger Team (CATT) at Cable and Wireless. He gained a hands-on understanding of how hackers operate at organizations ranging from Fortune 100 enterprises to small e-commerce sites. Then he developed custom forensic analysis and vulnerability detection software utilized to strengthen security within the company.

Mr. Manucharyan received a B.S. degree in Computer Science from California State University, Northridge. He also holds an M.S. degree in Information Assurance from Norwich University, which is recognized as a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education by the US National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.

Currently, Mr. Manucharyan is a member of the NIST SmartGrid Privacy working group, contributing to the identification of privacy issues in the smart grid and to the development of smart grid privacy standards.

He holds numerous vendor-specific and industry-specific certifications, including Certified MySQL Core (MySQL AB), LPIC Level 2 (Linux Professional Institute), and Symantec® Enterprise Vault certification.
